Prayer in the Tradition of the Saints
While we often think of prayer in terms of petition (asking God for help), the ultimate goal of prayer is the experience of God’s presence and discernment of God’s direction. For it is the divine encounter that will bless us most and guide us through whatever hardships we face.
In this short series we will experiment with three different forms of such prayer as given to us by some of the greatest saints in church history: St. Benedict (lectio divina) and Sts. Ignatius and Augustine (contemplation). And because these will be experiential practices, if you can be at Canvas in-person for these weeks the exercises will be much more meaningful!
