May Book Discussion

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, May 28th at 6:30PM at Canvas. We are reading (thanks to Debbie Haley) Everything Sad is Untrue (A True Story), by Daniel Nayeri. The book is a memoir from a man who emigrated from Iran to America with his mother and sister when he was six. The story is mostly told from the perspective of his six-year old self, but he also tells beautiful stories of his family, from generations long past but still held near and dear, and about his home in Iran. Full of cultural misunderstandings, which are great insights into what young immigrant children experience. If you can, try to listen to the audio version, as it is narrated by the author and beautifully done!
